Eshani Karu MD Talks Mental Health: May 2020 is National Mental Health Awareness Month for the United States by Presidential Proclamation
April 30, 2020 President Donald J. Trump concluded his statement with, “NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim May 2020 as National Mental Health Awareness Month”
Mental Health is a subject that I care deeply about and I talk with many patients each month about their lives and their mental well being. There is a stigma surrounding the words mental health and mental illness, but there is no reason to feel that way. All of us have challenges in life and for some it involves mental well-being. Let us join together in helping one another and recognize that our mental well-being is important.
I have provided a copy of the proclamation for your review.
