Pfizer BioNTech is getting great reviews for the results of their Covid-19 vaccine. The head doctor, Dr Mike Weekes, of the Pfizer team, who specializes in infectious diseases has said that the data coming from the U.S., UK and Israel is demonstrating that the vaccine provides protection from getting sick from Covid-19, but that it also is reducing the potential for passing it on to others.
The data out of an Israeli study that measured close to 3000 people who were vaccinated and 3000 unvaccinated people showed that there after just one dose of the Pfizer vaccine the author doctors concluded that there was a reduction in the “viral load” by a factor of 4 for Covid-19 infections that occurred 12 to 28 days after receiving just one dose of the vaccine, which lowers the about to infect others and reduces the risk of spreading the disease.
The data showed that there was information indicting that the viral spread would lessen from people receiving the vaccine and if this does turn out to be the case then it will be the dream that everyone is hoping for — that the people getting the vaccine will not get Covid-19, which today stands at 92% and that those receiving the vaccination would not be transmitters as well, which would then lead to the hoped for “herd immunity”.
